The left divisionwas directed to land opposite to the wood andvillage of Freystadt ; the centre division oppositeto Bischofsheim ; and the third, or right division,on a gravel bank opposite to Diersheim . Diffi-culties in the navigation, and the fire of theenemy, disturbed these dispositions so far, thatthe three parties were forced to land on thisbank; but the two small branches which se-parate it from the right bank of the river, beingthen fordable, the French troops immediatelypushed across, and drove out a party of theenemy from a building which had been stronglybarricaded.
