declares this animal to be a Polype as yet immature, which,when full grown, might probably find its position among theTubularise, since it is a fact that even young Polypes mayproduce ova and possess eyes; Yan Beneden even does notconsider it impossible that Eleutheria may be the youngeranimal of Synhydra, in which conclusion, however, Quatrefagesrefrains from joining him. Yan Beneden, moreover, recog-nises in the Dysmorphosa conchicola, Philip., and Cordylo-phora lacustris, Alim., his Hydractinia described in the year1841, and proposes the following classification of theTubularise:
