TESTIMONIALS.

Manchester, Jan. 20th. 1842.

We, the undersigned, havingwitnessed the testing of one ofMilnersnew patent fire-resistingboxes, by its being exposed tothe action of an open fire ofwood and seven hundredweightof coals, for the space of onehour and a half, do hereby ex-press our conviction that theirnew patent boxes afford a per-fect security in all cases of

ordinary fires. The box was filled with miscellaneous papers, anold ledger , and the deed on which this certificate was written, with ike seal attached. On opening the same, after it had beentaken out of the fire, its contents were found to be preserved, andeven the seal attached to the above deed was not in the slightestdegree injured .

[Here follow eight signatures.]

In the fire beside this box, the contents of a fire-proof boxof another make were consumed.

It appears an oldledger was put in thissafe, which most likelywas bound either in lea-ther or forril. This, with the other contents, and even the seal ofwax, were not in theslightest degree injured.
