Granite rests upon hornstone slate(hornschiefer) at Ehrenberg"; it alternateswith it near Tschito b on the banks of theriver Ingoda; and at the Chalet de la Paranear Chamony c . At Kandy d , a village inTartary, it alternates with hornstone; atSt. Michael’s Mount in Cornwall withquarz; in the Pyrenees e it rests upon ser-pentine.
