those points will be reposed also , upon the sides of theVeifel within the water, Observe therefore, where thosepoints are reposed by the eye, and upon the Vessel sides(with some bodkin or dent) make a mark , for that mustbe the projected point, answering to that upon the thrccdfrom whence it was projected : In the same manner are theother points to be projected , and marked , and so you areto deal with other hours too, oncly for each of them youmust place a new threed , and furnish it with knots, as be-fore was done. This may serve for direction in this way jOther wayes a man may find out of himself as nccesiity shallput him to it, and therefore I will mention no morehere.
As concerning Azimuths , it may be observed that theyonely of all other Circles, suster no refraction by water,ecause they all stand perpendicularly to the superficieso And therefore they are already put in, as is pre-scribed in preparing the Vessel for the rest of the work,oth for hours, and other furniture , for in both thesetieu lelp is requisite. But when all inscriptions arema e,i t iey prove cumbersome to the rest of the work, bying it ovei full , they may then in such cases be wiped
out.
