SPECIFIC CHARACTER.

Body red with yestow and black lines at each segment; th or 0 *green with yellow stripes. Wings clear, with marginal spots.

The body is red, with a yellow band and black mark at every feS'ment; the Thorax green, with longitudinal lines of yellow; theWings are perfectly transparent, except a marginal spot on each. ^is voracious, as are all the species of Libellula, whether in the larvathe winged state ; it appears about the same time as the preceding, a11 ^is the produce of an aquatic larva.
