Lipnæus placed this Insect among the ChRYSOMELÆ, under thespecific name Minuta \ but Degeer consigned it to the Dytiscusgenus, and gave it the name Ruficollis: As a Dytiscus it also ap-peared in the Syfiema Natures ; and Fabricius, as well as other lateEntomologists , have determined it to that genus, either calling itMinutus , or after Degeer, Ruficollis.
