The body is flat, of a roundish figure, but somewhat approaching to oval, and of
a yellowish white colour, and has a single large round spot on the back : the anus isvisible in the lower part of the body; the thorax is scarce conspicuous; the head isvery small and black; the mouth is bifid : the antennæ are of a clavated figure, andof the length of the shout; the legs are short and black. The animal, in the whole, much resembles the common dog-tick ; but it’s snout is longer, and it’s body never be-comes so distended as that of the other with fucking, but always continues flat.
It is common on sheep, and it’s excrements stain the wool green : it will live in the'wool many months after it is shorn from the animal. Charleton, Mousses, andothers call it Reduvius.
