Frames for daguerreotypes.
[The vast extension of the beautiful art discovered byDaguerre has called into existence a number of tradesof more or less consequence. Among these is that of themaker of frames for daguerreotypes. These frames areoften made of very simple materials, but are occasionallyof a more costly kind. They are rendered necessary, inconsequence of the liability to injury of the delicate sur-face of the impressed plate, even after it has been wellgilded by the usual process.—R. E.]
