or rather more than i°.
The circulation of air which tho ventilating Louvres woro intended to produce was much interruptedby the Goods, and also by tho necessity which occurred of partitioning off tho Machinery Booms andsome other parts of tho north sido of tho Building. The want of this circulation was much felt on thodays when there was little wind and a strong sun ; it was considered desirable, therefore, to remove about90 Sashes, each about 20 feet high by 8 feet wide, in different parts of tho Building, the openings beingclosed when necessary by canvass blinds. The actual temperature of tho Building does not seem to havoboon much increased by large numbers of Visitors.
On 79 days on which the Visitors wero rnoro than'40,000, tho moan oxcoss of tho interior over theexterior was ITl degrees; on 40 days that tho Visitors wero loss than 40,000, it was ’85 degrees.
