We may here notice the very common error of eftimafing a wine pint of water to be equal to1 6 ounces Troy, fince it wants as much as 389 grs. of 16 ounces, when the cubic inch iseftimated at 252*506 grs. and 375 grs. when the cubic inch is reckoned at 253 grs. which is thehigheft eftimation. Neverthelefs as feveral meafuring veflels are thus graduated, and as theadoption of this ftandard would be extremely convenient, this meafurement may be often ufe-fully employed for moderate quantities; but the chemift fhould then exprefs that he ufes thepint of 16 ounces Troy.
