Zurich Central Library
The Zentralbibliothek Zürich holds a wealth of historical material dating from the 15th to the 18th century: graphic material in addition to printed publications. Of particular note are those collections, across all knowledge domains, which focus on Zürich’s historical book and picture production, the illustrious inception of which around 1520 is associated with the printer-publisher Froschauer. Activity continued down the 17th century under the Meyer family of artists, attaining a further pinnacle of renown in the 18th century embodied by the firm Orell, Gessner, Füssli Co.
