The Place,the Occasion, and the Person that was so near, put hisLordship in mind of renewing the Pleasure in Sight os hisCuckold. The Nymph was no longer nice, and easilycomplied with any of his Desires. But not to detain yourGrace any longer with this Story, my Lord got theDamsel home, conveyed her up Stairs, to the Dukes Bed,and there haviiyr laid her, retired, with a Promise of re-turning as soonls he could change his Cloaths, look asterthe Family* and the like. But he having had his Endsalready, sent up my Lord Duke in his Place, whom theignorant and passive Nymph bore with equal Satisfaction.

When the oldMiler came Home, finding his Doorsopen, his Sister asleep, his Wife fled, and his Moneygone, after raving like a Mad-man, he hanged himself.ThisNews was soon spread about theNeighbourhood, andreached the Inn; where both Lovers now, as weary oftheir Purchase, as desirous of it before, doubling her Cash,advi ed her to retire to London, where, this Disgrace notbeing known, she might get another Husband ; and toldher they intended soon to be there themselves. She fol-lowed their Advice, and so this Adventure ended. HisMajesty, soon after, coming that Way, found them bothin their Posts, and took them into Favour, and with himto Newmarket.

His Amours at Court are too well known to yourGrace, to need my repeating of them. Besides, theyare mingled too much with the Reputation of Ladies ofQuality, to revive them. I cannot omit that Affairwhich my Lord had with the sine Miss Roberts, Mistressto the King, whom she left and refused, for the Possessionof my Lords Person and Heart, as she imagined : But hewas soon cloyed with the Enjoy ment of any one Woman,
