To colour the Body.

If you boyl Nettles in water, and wash your Body with it, it will make it red-co-lored, if you continue it long. If you distil Sttaw-berries,*nd wash your self with thewater, you (hall make your Face red as a Rose. Bur the Ancients dyed their bo-dies of divers colours; partly, for ornament; partly, for terronr : as Cæsar writesof the Britaas going to war ; for they painted themselves with MAE Theophrastuscalls it Ifatis, and we call itGuado. Take four ounces of Peach-Kerne % and Gourd-Seed two ounces; pown them, andcrush them out strongly, that you tnay draw forth an oyly Liquor: with this,morningand evening, anoynt the red Carbuncles of your face, and by degrees they will vanishand be gone. v. *
