Harts bane.

Some venemous Fish are found iti Armenia ; with the powder of them, they scatter Figs tire wed with it, in the places where wilde Beads come: Beads no sooner tadeof them, but they die. And by this Art are Harts and Bores killed. aÆUan.

Horse banes ^

are Aconite, Hellebore, and red Aisenick.

Wheedles bane, are

Sal Ammoniac, and Corn moystened with some Liquor : scatter this about suchplaces as Wheczles haunt: when they eat it, they die, or flic away.

Sheeps bane.

Nardum kills Sheep. Dhfcorides. Cattel and Goats, if they drink the water whereRhododendron is deeped,will die. Pliny and Ononymm , an Author nameless. Flea-bane kills Goats and Sheep: so doth Savin j

Pigeons bane .

Seraph writes, that Pigeons are killed when they eat Corn or Beans steept in wa-ter , wherein white Hellebore hath been infused.

Hens bane.

Hens die by eating the Seeds of Broom, called Spartam,

Bats bane.

Zoreastes in Geopan. faith they die by the fume of Ivy.

Vultures.

Some Animals are killed by things that smell very sweet to us : Vultures by Un-guents , and black Beetles by Roses. The same happens if a man do but anoyncthem, or give them meat that is smeered with sweet Gyntmem. z/driSietle lib. <Jkti~rabil.

Scorpions bane.

Aconite called Theliphonum , from killing Scorpions. Scorpions are stupified bytouching it, and they wax pale, shewing that they are conquered. The Eagle iskilled with Comfrey : the Ibis with the Gall of the Hixna : the Stare withGariick-seed : the Charidrius with Brimstone : the Urchin withPondwccd : theFauUcon, the Sea-gull, the Turtle, the black-Bird, the Vulture, the night-Bird, calledScopes, perish with Pomegranate Kernels. Of the venames for fishes.

T He Sea and Rivers use to be infected with some Herbs, and other simplerwhereby phe Fishes that swim in those waters, are (hade drunk and die. But,because they are several for several Fish, I shall set down both the Particulars andthe Generals,that the Fisherman taught by these, may invent others himself.
