Improved
Double Panel-Raising Machine.
For Haising' Panels of any Shape on Both Sides at Once.
A machine that will raise panels, and can he adapted for sticking sash, planingblind-slats, etc., is especially desirable in every sash, door, and blind establish-ment. This machine has been newly designed, is heavy in every part, and willraise a panel on both sides, at one operation, of any style of molding, O. G.,bevel, etc., and any width up to also stick sash, plane blind-slats, etc., and
is strongly recommended as the most complete machine for the purpose made.
It has heavy steel arbors, lead-ground, running in self-oiling bearings, withtwo cutter-heads, one above and one below the table, adjustable and easily ac-cessible, with a wide table to support the stuff, and a supplemental table orframe in front, adjustable, on turned rods, to suit the width of panel.
The cutters on the heads are set at an angle, to produce a drawing cut, andfinish the surface perfectly smooth, on hard or soft wood; and as they have nocorners to wear away, the bit is not easily destroyed, and wears a long time.
The under head raises and lowers with the table, and has also an inde-pendent vertical adjustment for accurate setting. It is easy of _access, and ishelted direct from the countershaft.
There are two large sectional feed-rollers, strongly geared, insuring a posi-tive feed, also a friction roller in the table, with the necessary spring and press-ure-bars, to retain the stuff in its place. It has two speeds of feed, 9 ' and 13'per minute.
All parts are easy of adjustment, and have every convenience for perform-ing the work in the most rapid and satisfactory manner. Any width of raiseabove and up to 5 " is made by substituting other heads.
By removing the long hold-down spring, and substituting other heads andcutters, it is quickly converted into a sash-niachine for sticking sash, molding, etc.
The countershaft is independent of the machine, and placed on the floor, asuitable distance, to secure good length of belts.
The tight and loose pulleys are 8' / x4", and should make 800 revolutions.
