the Ovarium being as it were Callous or Schirrhous, it might Osf.fie, andforne unknown Circumstances might determine and ffiape it into aTooth.
As for the Hair in the Bag or Cyfiis , I ani apt to think, that that fattySubitanee, in which it was contained, might contribute much towards it;as the Threads of Silk worms, the Cobwebs of Spiders, so Cotton, theThrums of the Gramen Tcmentofum, &c. are from particular Juices. Buthere they have their strainevs through which they fhtfot, or are as it werewyre-drawn. The Hatr mentioned in the fore*going Obscrvation, was mostof it radicated in sraall Glands; but as for that of this, like as forne Plantsthat tbriveby fending their Roots into a FluidBody, the Water, this Steato-matous or fatty Subitanee might prove a sufficient Soil for propagating andproducing them; which I am the more apt to btlieve, since in the follow-ing, and forne other parallel Hiitories, where such Hair hath been found, likewise this pinguious or fatty Subitanee bath also been obferved.
Thercfore my zd. Observacion is of a Gentlewoman, aged about 39Years, who for a conliderable time had been troubled with various Symptomsof the Stone in the Kidneys, as bloody Urine, great Pains, Vomitings, &c.which in ali probability were the greateit Lauso of her Death. Uponopening her Body, there was obsorved near the Uterus a Cystis or Bag aboutthe bigness of a large Turky’sEgg, and in it a like fatty Subitanee, as beforeexprefled, as also a great quantity of light soft Hatr. Fastend to a fleffiySubstance within the Cystis was a Bone, in forne sort resembling a Mandtbk :for it had scveral Sockets, in which were seated 3 large Dentes Molares, orGrinders, in a Triangle, and a ^thnot yet quite grown out. In one of theKidneys was found a large Stone.
How subject this Part is to such Hairy Tumors, may further appear fromthe Histories of others; but they make no mention of Teeth found there; butI have been acquainted, that the Learncd Dr. Needbam, Diflecting a Womanhere in Town some Years ago, in one of the Ovariums, which was verymuch swelled, found both a Toothand Hair there.
