2* fis: In the Fanale a "Pudendum, Fagina Uteri, C>rn f ia Uteri, and Sper-tKatick Vejfels.

In the Male, the Venis was plac’d at the Tail, or opposite Extreme to theUead ; and seem’d to be able to exert itseifalmost the length of a Barlej'-Corn, or proportionably to the length of the Vagina in the Female. At theRoot of the Penis was inserted the Neck of the Veficula Seminalis, whichgradually grew larger as ic afcended in the Body, and usüally did reach al-«lost half way. ’Twas Hll’d and Turgid with a Milky Juice, which it rc-ceiv'd front a (lender Vejfel of the fame Colour inserted into it, which aber otiet urning J wasafterward very rnuch Convoluted, and being (b forms that BodyI call the Vejis. And altho’ this Part be so loosely contexed, as even to thenaked Eye it appears but asa continu’d Veffcl, and may easi'y be unravcll dits whole length. which I measur’d was above a Yard : Yet 1 make no dif-ficulty of giving itthename ofa Teßis, since’tis now sofficiently known, thatthe Testes inmore compleat Animals are only a Ccngeries of Festeis. And aRat, besides this Worm, is not the only Subject whei ein 1 have found thcmthus loose and eaGly separable.

In the Femak Worm, almost about the middle of the Body, but more to-wards the Head, I obferv’d an Orifice or Pudendum, which led into theVagina Uteri • which soon divided into the wo Cornua, which were largeand remarkable; For deseending something winding towards the Tau,they were thcn refiected again, and did each oftbem terminate in flendefVestels, White as they were, but much fmaller ; and did lie in several C.on-v °iutions and Windings amongft them. Tht so 1 take for Spermatick Fest—seh. Having taken those Veflels, with the Cornua Uteri and Vagina, out ofthe Body, and laid them on a Paper todry, I found from each Cornu to theend of the Spermatick Vestels, which I had preserved, that they measurdabove Hpoot. I open’d the CcrnuaUteri, and found thrmTurgid with aMilky Juice: Having placed a little ofitupona fmall Microfcope, I pliinlyperceiv’d’twas nothing eise but an infinite Number of fmall Eggs-, tho’ tothe naked Eye it appear’d only as a fluid Body. These Eggs, when fiesh, appear’d as is represented in the Figure, cover’d with abundance of sinallAfperities • but as they grew dry their Surface appear’d Smooth. By com-paring that sinall Quamity I did obscrve, in which I could diftingu iTi sofnany Eggs, with the whole Subftance corttain’d in both the Cornua, I can-not gueis there can be so few as ioooo Eggs in each Fnnale-Worm.

How tat different this Worm is from common Ear-tb-Worms, as to theseParts, 1 need only refer to Dr. Widis’s Figures and Account of it to fhew :And 1 am yet to learn what Worm out of the Body h„s these Organs thuskorm'd. When once there, the Cafe is plain how they Pr-p^gace them-selves, fmee the diifinction of Sexes i c so e vident: So that they are much m -Haken, who sey, that these 11 r orms do not . Generate. And 1 canm t butt bink, that they ate also miflaken who make tuem Fiviparous ; and tratth ey were tmpos’d ttpon by the Genital Parts of this Worin', which notWarily examin’d, migbt eafily make them to think they are so many sinall

or ms. For they are not Viviparous but Oviparous, as 1 la-vc (hevvnj and
