ing very Vehement, there pasi’d over another Substance, that was judgedmore Pondcrous th&n the former, because it feil through the U'ater to the bot-tom of the Rcceiver ; whence being taken out, (and partly even while itstay’d there,) it appear’d by several Effects, and other Pkancmena, to besuch a kind of Substance as we desired and expected.

XIV Dr. Kunkelius Prepares out of the Condensed Light (which by his „uSkill in Chymtfiry he knows to Extract out of any kind of Terrestrial Bodywhatsocver, as if it were there naturally placed) certain Pilis about the big- joi>. chr. stun-nds of Peas (to which he ascribes very ltrange Comforung and Aledicinal r 's Co(Vertues) thesc being moistened a little, and in the Dark scraped with onesNail, Knifeorthe like, do yield a very coniiderable Light, not without aconspicuous Smoak also; which afford a Light yet much more Pleasint andStrange, if about 8 or i o of them be put into a Glasi ofWater, and there-with sliook in the Dark, for thereby ali the Water and the Cavity of theGlasi will seem perfectly Filled with Light, Flashing by Turns very brisk-ly j As I my feil, not without the Admiration of the Specta tors, have seve-ral times Experimented. The fame Dr. Kunkelius hath also reduced thesime Lucid Matter into the form of larger Stones, (which I have not yethad the good Fortune to fee my self) which being Warmed by the Hand, but especially if they be a little Scraped, or Rubbed upon aPaper or Table, describe Leiters very Legiblc in the Dark.

XV. i. The Liquid and Solid Phosphorus do not materially Differ, being Fxfenmtmmade both out of Substances taken from a Humane Body. The Liquid isa Substance mixed with a Liquor, that (though it would burn a body when P ; 10 rus ; h r>r.5n a Solid Maß) will not Offend a Lady’s Hand with Sealding or even ^ d ‘ n s i* re ' J’"'Hear, whenWashed in it. An Experiment of this kind I made this last °'"' y4Week, in the Prefence of feveral Persons of very greät Quality, where avery Learned and Ingenious Person, Wastiing both his Hands and Facewith it, made not only his own Faceto Shine, but the Lustre of his Facediseovered 3 or 4 other Faces not far distant : yet so soon as the Candlcswere brought into the Room, the Shining drsippeared, and no Sign orChange was perceivable on the Skin of either.

This Fbofpbcrus continues not it’s Light very long, if dose stopt j yet inone fort 1 have observed a kind of Flaßitng 6 or 7 times soecestively, thoughthe Glasi were dose stopped • which makes me to conclude it to be the famewith the Phosphorus Fulgurans of Dr. Elßiolf, the Flaflnngs of it having lömeresemblancc to Lightning.

The other Phosphorus which is Solid, Differs not, as I seid, materiallyfrom the Fluid, being made for the most pari out of Urine : but 1 am süfli-ciently sitisfied that it may be as well made out ofBlood, if it couid as easilybe obtained as JJrine in great quantities, since Urine is but the Serum ofBlood strained through the Kidneys.

In this Preparation, we have not only the common Analyßs into Vaters ,

Spirits, Volatile Salts, Sulphur s, otOyls, but divers other extraordinary ap-pcarances before this Grand Product comer. Y y 2 The
