From the sind Umbo the Shield is 4 Inches and a half broad on eachside, in which are 11 Circular Equidillant Rows of Braß Studs of that Size,that 222 are Set in the Utmost Circle, which is 4 Eoot wanting 3 Inches, (forthat is the Circumference of the Euckler ) and so proportionably in the si.ef-ßrCircles. To the Center ofthesc 11 Rows ot Brazen Studs, the InmostCircle is placed upon the Umbo it felf, the next 8 upon as many CircularPlates of Iron, each a 3 i of an Inch Broad. The two Ourermost upon OneThicker Piate an Inch broad. In the little Intervals between these CircularPlates are plainly difcovered cerrain Gross Lammte, that paß on the Back ofthe other, trom the Umbo to the Exterior Circle ; and these Iron Plates arealso about the $d. part ofan Inch at the broaderend towards the Circumsc-rence, but gradually Contracted intoanarrower breadth, that they may bebroughe into the Compaß of the Umbo at the Center. The Inner Coatnext to thole Iron Plates is made of very Thick, Hard, Strong Leather,which Cuts Bright, (bmewhat like Parchment. Upon that is a Second Co-ver of the some, and on the Outside ot this are Plaited the Iron Ptns that runthrough the Erajs Studs ; for the above-mcntion’d Brass Studs are Cast pure-
