Histy Increaso of Light, that discloscd it seif in thc Veal tipon this LettiVgin of the Air to the Exhaußed Receiver, it appeared more manifesti/ thanbefore, that the Decrement, though but Slowly made, had been Conside-rable. This Tryal we once more Repeated with a not unhke Success;which though it Convinced us, that the Luminous matter of our indudedBody was more Vigorous or Tenacious than that of most other Shming Bo-dics; yet it lest us forne Doubts, that the Light would ha re been much moreImpaired, if not quite made to Vanijh, if thc Subject: of it could have beenkept long enough in our Exhaußed Receiver .

17. It was also found that a Legg of the sime Veal, had some Shi-ntng places in it; though they were but very few and faint inComparison of thofe, that were Confpicuous in thc a bove mentionedNeck.

18. Marcb 16. Between 4 and 5 in the MorningI lookt upon a CleariThiel t that I had laid upon »he Bed by me aster a piece of our LuminousVeal had been induded in it, and found it to Shine Vividly. 1 lookt uponit again the 3 d. Day (inclusi velyj aster we had first obferved the Meat, ’twascut off fron?, to be Lttminous , and I found it to Shine in the Dark as Vigo-roufly as ever. The 4s b Day its Light wa? also Confpicuous; so that Iwas able in a Dark Comer of the Room to soew it even in the D#J Time to3 or 4 very IngeniousPhysitians. But before the Night following the Lightbegun to Decay, and the Ostensive SmeU to grow somewhat Strong; whichsoems to Argue, that the Disposition, upon whose accounc our Veal wasLuminous , may very well consist both wirb its being and not beingin a State of VutrcfatHon, and consequently is not likely to be Deri-ved meerly from the One or the other. The %tb Day , in the Morning look-ing upon it before theCurtains were opented, it seem’d to Shine better thanit had done the day preceeding. The sime Night also it was manifest e-nough, though not Vivid, in the Dark. Wben I awaked the 6 tb Day inthe morning aster theS«» was Risen, I could within the Cunains perceive aGlimmcring Light : But the 7 th. Day , 1 could not late at Night discern anyLight at all.

19. I st, all only add and Conclude with one Observation more, whichmay possibly take off our thoughrs from Srriving to Deduce the Shining ofour Veal from the Peculiar Noxrißiment, or Conßiiution, or Properties of thatJndividual Calf, whose Flefi ,, &c. Was Luminous : For, having scveralNights fent purposily into the Larder, to obscrvc, whether any Veal , sincebrought thither, or any Other Meat , did afford any Light , a Negative an-swer wa; always brought me back ; sive at one time, which happened to bewithin leß than 48 Hours of that, at which tbe Luminouftieft of tbe Vealhad been first taken notice of; for at this time there was in the sime Lardera Confpicuous Light soen in a Pullet , that Hung up there, which havingCauscd to be brought up in a Darkened place in my Chamber in the Nighttime, I perceived 4 or y Luminous places, which were not indeed near soLarge as those of the Veal, but were littlc lest Vtvid than they- Ali of theseI took notice to be either upon or near the Rump ; and that which appeared
