Montgo- land, lead ore, iron ore, and all other raw materials, five-mery Canal. p £nce p er ton p er

For all bark, cordwood, coak, charcoal, lead, wroughtiron, baulk and deals, five-pence halfpenny per ton per mile.

For all other goods, wares, &c. Jix-pence per ton per mile.

Fractions of a mile to be taken by the quarter; but not tobe charged unless it exceeds one quarter, &c.

Exemptions, dung, foil, marie, ashes, or other manure,,(except lime, and lime-stone) to be used for the improvementonly of adjoining lands; also stone, gravel, sand, or othermaterials, for the repair or making of any public roads, in anyparish through which the canal, &c. (hall pass.

When the profits of this canal shall amount to ten per cent.,a reduction is to be made of one farthing per ton per mile onlime-stone, coal, and lime ; also a second reduction of one-farthing is to be made on the fame principles r but if the pro-fits do not amount to eight per cent. the rates may be raised.

The company are made answerable for the interest due oncertain turnpike trusts, if the tolls shall not produce sufficient,,by reason of making this canal.

The northern extremity, and in general the neighbourhoodof this canal abound in quarries of lime-stone, free-stone, andslate, and with mines of coal, lead ore, and other mineralsand that they may become advantageous and productive to theseveral owners, water carriage must be obtained; this thecanal will supply, producing general benefits.
