278. If two bodies be uniformly accelerated overdistances that are inversely as the acceleratingforces, they will acquire equal velocities.
This proposition is given as a lemma to that whichfollows.
279. The velocity with which a fluid issuesfrom an infinitely small orifice in the bottom orside of a vessel that is preserved full, is equal tothat which a heavy body would acquire by fallingfrom the level of the surface to the level of theorifice.
