He might think that all go-vernments have a right to eflablifh whatever religionthev think fit, and that an individual is no more au-thorifed to oppofe that religion, than to fly in theface of any other law. Thefe are arguments ratherin favour of his difcretion than his fpirit.

Fuller obferves, that, Though he lived but in the twilight of religion, he is juftly to be placed not on the dark, but light fide of reformation; for though his actions were but weak, vet his af- fefiions were fincere.
