This College is fituate north of Emanuel,oppofite to St. Andrew’s Church; and has onegrand Court, about 138 feet long, and 120 broad,formed by the Chapel , Mafter’s-Lodge, Hall, andapartments for the Students. It is cafed with ftone,and fafhed in a handfome manner. There is like-wife an uniform pile of ftone building, next thegarden and the field, about 150 feet in length; from,which there is a fine view of the adjacent country.
The Chapel , including the Ante-Chapel, is abouteighty-four feet long, twenty-feven broad, and thirtyhigh ; floored with marble, well adorned and finifli-ed, and has an. organ-gallerv. on the north fideof it.
There is a handfome monument of white marblenear the altar, ereited to the memory of Sir Tho-mas Finch, Enabaffador in Turkey, and Sir JohnBaines, who had their education in this College;travelled together, and were remarkable for theirfriendfhip, which continued till the end of theirQ. 2 lives.
