Blind-Rabbeting, Jointing, and Beading Machine.

With Plowing and Boring Attachment.

The accompanying engraving is a new and important machine for rabbet-ing, jointing, and beading blinds. It performs all of the work named at oneoperation in the most efficient manner, is readily adjusted to any size of blind, and is so simple that a boy can operate it with ease.

The vertical spindle carrying the rabbeting and jointing head is made of steel,of large diameter, the lower end resting in a self-lubricating step box of most, approved construction. The head is so constructed that a shearing cut is made, thereby producing smooth work. The horizontal spindle supporting the beadinghead is adjustable for different thicknesses of blinds, and is mounted on an angleframe so that the belt is of uniform tension at whatever point it may be placed.

The blind is held firmly to the guide by a spring adjustable to differentwidths and secured to the table on which the blind rests. The guide is madein two sections, the front one being adjustable for a light or heavy cut; the rearone adjustable to the depth of the cut for making a perfectly straight joint.

When desired we can furnish with this machine, at a small additional cost,a plowing and boring attachment for sashas shown in the engravingfor mak-ing the groove and boring the hole for the sash-cord and knot. Other attach-ments for sash work may be used on this machine for sand-papering and jointingthe meeting rail, relishing rails, and beveling the check-rail.

The tight and loose pr;lleys are 8"x4", and should make 800 revolutions.
