No. 1 Patent Bench Blind-Wirer.

This machine is for wiring the rods and slats of rolling window-hlinds andattaching them together. It is worked by hand, and will drive staples from %"to %" in length. The staple-driver and pocket are made of hardened steel, andcan be replaced for a trifle. A cut-off prevents more than one staple being drivenat a time. A notched carrier of wood, accurately spaced, determines the exactdistances the staples are to be driven apart. They can be varied to suit differentdistances.

Patent Double Blind-Wirer.

This is a very simple automatic machine for wiring both the slat and rodand attaching them together. The staples are fed regular with precision. A cut-off attachment to the feed prevents more than one staple being driven at atime. Both the staple-driver and the pocket-holder are made of steel, and hard-ened, and can be renewed for a few cents.

The notched carrier is made of wood, and spaced to suit the distances desiredto drive the staples apart. In operation the slat is wired in the upper and theslat and rod wired together by the lower driver, both working by one move-ment of the lever.
