Plain Groover Heads.

These are made from steel castings, of varying thick-nesses, depending upon the width designed to cnt. Theyare accurately turned and balanced, and carry two cut-ters, which are so milled into shape as to form boththe cutter and spur. They are secured by taper boltsin milled slots. As the profile of the cutter is milled the shape is not changedby sharpening. Each head has live pairs of cutters.

No. 1 Groover Head, with five cutters, to work from X" to

2 X" ii4".

Solid Gaining Heads.

These Heads are made in cylindrical form, from7" to 12" diameter, with side spurs and insertedcutters. They are carefully turned and balanced,and cut with great ease. They are used on saw-arbors and other wood-working machines. Thefollowing sizes are made:

7" Diam., to cut either X", %", T V', X", l"

8" X", X", 1 ".

9" X"i 1", 1 * 4 ", 2"

10" I", 1%", 2", 2'4", 3".

12" 1", 1}2", 2", 2X", 3".

Sectional Expansion Gaining Heads.

These heads are such universal favoritesthat a description seems unnecessary. Theyare made in tw r o sections, with cutters andspurs fitted to each. They will expand and cutup to twice their width, and are the most con-venient and perfect Gaining Heads in use. Thefollowing sizes are made, viz.:

Steel-Plate Expansion Gaining Heads.

These heads are made of steel plates in tw T o sec-tions. The outer faces have spurs held in milledseats; the inner faces grooves in which the cuttersare held by end pressure. Turned bolts rigidlysecure both together. They are used on saw-arborsby omitting the outside collar. Three sizes aremade:

No. 1 , 7X" diameter, to cut from X" to 2".

2 , 8 2 " %" 2 ".
