15 the Sick has no Rest in the Night-time, becausc of great Pains, or toofrequent Stools, ’tis convenient to take aSpoonful, orone and a half, of theSyrup of Cora/, according to the Violence of the Distemper, mixt with aOlafs of Vtisan. Tbis Syrup will allay the Fermentations, and the Boilingsof the Humours, and procure Sleep, wbich repairing the Force of Nature,will give the Remedies liberty to Act more efh-ctually. We must also take aSpoonful of that Syrup at the Evening of that Day, in which they havctaken the Remedy B, or C.
All these Remedies, markt betöre, must be taken in the Morning Fading,and two H urs bcforeSuppen. Thole who do not love to take them mixtwith Liquor, may take them in a Wafer, drinking after them. If anyof these Remedies caule Vomiting, as it happens (ometimes, one must not bediscouraged, forhe shall not fail tobeCured notwithstanding, because theseRemedies Act briskly on the Cause of the Distemper, only he must take todrink, alter his Vomiting, 3 or 4 Glasses of Warm Water, that he may Vo-mit with bis Pain.
Children, Delicate Persons, andWomen with Child, (hall use it in thefollowing mannen. For Children that are yet under 3 Years Old, they musttake but the 8ih part of the Dofis of the Remedies ; Children from 3 YearsOld to 10, shall take a 4th part; from 10 to iy, athirdj from 1 y to 20,the half. Thesame Dose will seive for tender Persons, and such as are aged ,and Women big with Child. As for Robust PeisonS, from 20 to 60, no-thing shall be diminilh’d from the Dosesabove markt. But all Persons, whoby realen of their tender Constitution, the weaknefs of rheir Age, or bigBei lies, are forbid the who] e Dose, shall use the Remedies a second time, inrhe mannt r 1 havenow prescrib’d, if the first Dose do not Cure them
In many Occalions, when the Dysentery is accompany’d with a Fever ,that the Evacuatiorsof Blood are cxtraordinary, or the Pains excesiive, rhePatient may be Blooded once or twice, if the Strength of the Patient allowit, toempty the Vestels, to calm the Pain of the Fever, and stop the impe-tu' us Motion of the Blood ; after which the Remedies may be continued. Inthis Case, 1 wou'd advile to take, betöre all things, the Packet B 4. whichbefore is ordernd for the 15th Day ; to take away that Fulnels, which isfomctimes so great, that there is Danger in delayingit; after which thePa'ient (hall return to the Dose markt for the firs Day, and so for the rest;on the 1 y'o the Patient stral rest.
