82 Magmtifmus Magnus : Or,needs have a natural Love, Propension, andInclination to it.

Thirdly, We see in all created Beings anatural Propension, Love, and Conversionof every thing to that from which it re-ceives its Protetfion and Dtfence, its Con-servation and Perfectibility : and this is agreat Reason of most of the Sympathies inNature, and of those Conversions and Mo-tions of one thing toward another; andthis not only in Things endued with a sen-sible Perception, but also in Beings desti-tute of Sense : Thus Vegitables will reachafter the Water and moist Particles of theEarth to receive their Nourishment, andtowards the Sun and its warm Rays, to re-ceive heat and advance of their vital Prin-ciples ; and the poor senseless Magnet wil! #ireach after the Earth, and its MagnetickEffluxes, to receive a Preservation, andfarther increase of its Magnetick Vigour.

Now the Soul, though it be a noble Be-ing, yet it is a dependant Being; andthough it be created Immortal, yet it hatha passive receptive Power, whereby it is'perfectable to a higher degree of Excel-lence and Perfection, which no Being inthe World, but the Being of Beings, canfatisfie and fill; and though it be immor-tal, yet in its state of Union with the Body,
